a day at the {little italy} mercato

So this past weekend was a fun one spent at the Little Italy Mercato. I always like waking up early and walking the market just to people watch and admire the various goods each merchant exhibits proudly. From fruits and vegetables, clothing and jewelry, to home accessories and paper goods, the Little Italy Mercato has it all. Oh, and you can't miss the delicious paninis.

As soon as I arrived to the Mercato I was immediately sucked in by a beautiful array of handmade journals and jewelry that were displayed on one of the many merchants' tables. They were all so colorful, made with Japanese, Nepalese, and Tibetan papers...I couldn't resist and I had to buy one.

Believe me, this was truly a visual orgasm. Colors and patterns surrounding me at every turn; I didn't know which one to choose. After many minutes of deliberation, I went with this cherry blossom motif because I just loved the combination of colors: red, turquoise, and pink.

Oh, and did I mention they had matching jewelry for each and every journal? Of course I had to get the earrings to match, that's what sealed the deal!

Now, I couldn't resist posting these gorgeous finds, even after the merchant feared someone copying his style, but they're just tooooo beautiful not to share. Sorry! :) You can probably find these at one of your local Museums.
