in the {designer} kitchen

I love cooking! I'm at my calmest when preparing and cooking food for family and friends. When I'm alone in the kitchen my mind just wanders and it becomes like a meditation session. But, at the moment I don't have enough space in the kitchen of my current residence to spread out and enjoy it to the fullest, thus, I day dream of the perfect cooks kitchen every day. I spend quite a bit of time on a weekly basis scouring the net for inspiration, so I know exactly what I want in my future dream kitchen. These are just a few of my favorites.

I like the light over dark cabinets in this image. I imagine the large glass door at the end opening into a bright, inner courtyard where I could sit and have morning tea.

This is Giada De Laurentiis' kitchen and that is my dream island. Not sure why I want such a large island, I'm not much of a baker, but I do like to spread out while I'm cooking so this is the ideal size. This just feels so open and airy...perfect for my 'meditation'.

From this kitchen I like the tall, glass-door cabinets; it's just so much easier to see what you have but you still keep the dust off your dishes.

And this image (Sanna Annukka's kitchen via Design Sponge), well, I just imagine it would be a great little space to have lunch in a quaint Parisian apartment. I think I was unconsciously drawn to it because the date on the wooden calendar is my birthday, though :).

Just a small sample of the oh so many ideas I have for my 'sometime', future kitchen.
