What joy I felt while scrolling through a beautiful invitation by Rifle Paper Co. on the Oh So Beautiful Paper blog and suddenly seeing a very recognizable yellow and charcoal logo...the one found on my in-law's Mexican tile-inspired 50th Anniversary Invitations. Just want to take the time to thank Nole for featuring my in-law's 50th Anniversary Invitations on her fabulous blog. They look beautiful...check them out!

an arts & crafts wedding :: the extras

As promised, the freshly shipped Arts & Crafts Extras comprising of thank you cards, place cards and table numbers, which finalize the Wedding Invitations I shared with you on Monday.

Taking inspiration again from the Gamble House architecture, I designed a structural placard which you might find at the house in the Arts & Crafts style.
 

The table numbers were placed inside frames so they were single-sided, and the place cards were a folded tent with the table number on the back side (you can see in the left-top corner of the second image above).

The back side of the thank you cards had the same logo as found on the Wedding Invitation. A metallic charcoal envelope with its accompanying address label finishes this Arts & Crafts Wedding Invitation Suite nicely.

Ok. Finally, the so anticipated and much teased about Arts & Crafts Wedding Invitation is here. I just wanted to make sure the now Mr. & Mrs.' guests had a chance to view them before I shared them with you. Since the big day was this past Saturday I think we're safe in doing so.

If you missed it the first time around, I shared the warm visual + sparkle with you here and the inspiration for the Wedding Invitation Suite is found here so you can see the gorgeousness of the Gamble House.

It was so exciting to work with such a great couple, and to create the custom illustrations and patterns for the overall Wedding Suite all inspired by intricate details of the so famous Gamble House 'door' was surely a high.

The typeface for their names and for the custom logo, which included the wedding date, was chosen for it's call-back to the era. The rest of the information was kept in a sans-serif typeface in various colors from the chosen color palette so it accentuated the former font.
 

The information in the front of this Arts & Craft Wedding Invitation Suite was framed by the decorative motifs inspired by The Gamble House Door.

A custom stained-glass-esque pattern was inspired by the windows themselves as well, and was used throughout the Wedding Suite, included the table numbers, place cards, and thank you cards which I'll share with you later in the week.

an arts & crafts wedding invitation {sneak peek}

A few months ago I shared with you a late summer visual + sparkle inspired by a fabulous Arts & Crafts house. I've also given you many sneak peaks of the final invitation, but I thought I'd stretch it out a little longer and show you the back side of the invitation with the custom pattern and logo used throughout the Wedding Invitation Suite.

This fabulous couple gets married tomorrow, so I wanted to take a little moment to wish them the best on this new journey together. May your special day be filled with many great memories celebrating with family and friends. I hope to soon be designing your baby announcements! =) Congratulations.

1st birthday & baptism invitation

A year ago this month a little new bundle of joy was born into a caring a loving family, that of my very good friend Jazmine. Her little one, Zoe, will be baptized and celebrated this weekend in a big way so she asked me to design something sweet and fun to commemorate the event.

Jazmine used the so adorable Mod Monkey motif for all her decorations so it was a must to use on the invitations*. In this double-sided Birthday and Baptism Invitation, the color palette was very girly, of course, with a mixture of soft tints for the baptism side and bright pops of pink and lime green for the birthday celebration side.

An array of graphic elements such as diagonal lines and polka-dots accompanied by flowing banners holding the important information added to the playfulness of the invitations. A custom logo was created as well which was used on the address labels and other designs created for the decor.

And of course the address label is a must for the final touch. I reflected the Mod Monkey motif so it showed on both the front and back of the address label. These bright and vibrant Magenta envelopes from the Eames Furniture Collection, which I also used on these Owl Baby Shower Invitations, brought the invitation suite together.

May this baptism and birthday celebration be as special as the many happy years to come! Unfortunately, I can't attend being that it's the same day as my in-law's 50th Anniversary Celebration (and in different cities), but I'll have little Zoe and your family in might heart. Have Fun!!

a new {blog} look

So, what do you think? I just wanted to freshen things up a bit. Good changes are coming for LizzyB Loves...new blog, new website, new ready-to-order invitations...I'll keep you posted.

50th anniversary invitation

I shared the creation of a few Mexican tile-inspired patterns here and the final designs I would use for my in-law's 50th anniversary celebration invitations here, but below are the images I shot of the final invitation sets which were mailed to the guests a few weeks ago.

Their actual anniversary isn't until next March, but the celebration will be in a few weeks. A logo with their names and wedding years was created to be used on the front of the invitation and address label.

A different motif was created as well with the celebration date to be used on the back of the invitation and many of the other paper pieces such as favor tags.

From the previous pattern designs four various background designs were created for the invitations, thus each guest would receive one out of four of the designs.

The format of the 50th Anniversary Invitation was long but folded down to a 5" x 5" square to fit perfectly in the gold envelope.

These are the four background pattern designs created for the invitations. The colors were a mustard/yellow to match the gold envelope, accompanied by a rich black and accents of charcoal.

Flourishes were designed by taking elements of the various patterns to create a motif which accented the outside of the invitation as well as the address label below.

A crest shape contained the pertinent information for the event and was the unifying design element on all invitations.

For the reception card, which needed to be removable, we used black photo corners to keep it in place. It worked out perfectly, fitting inside the diamond shape created by the patterned background.

And the final touch to this 50th Anniversary Celebration Invitation were the two designs created for the envelope liners. Taking a combination of motifs from all the patterns created, two versions of the the envelope liner were designed unifying all the pattern designs.
